Meteorological Data Scientist (AI)

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 per year, subject to local market, skills, and experience

What you will do

• Develop data visualizations, statistical analyses, and product prototypes using meteorological data.
• Validate AI weather models and products, including proprietary satellite data, NWP data, and observations.
• Investigate model and observation-data performance and strengthen customer use cases.
• Use AI tools and model data to create prototypes for scientists and end users.
• Collaborate with Weather Science, Weather Applications, Bespoke Solutions, Space and Sensor, Marketing, Accounts, and Customer teams.
• Support customers with weather-data use cases, validations, and value propositions.

Requirements

• Degree in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology.
• 3+ years of experience as an operational meteorologist or research atmospheric scientist.
• Experience with customer-facing work, weather-data visualization and integration, and AI tools.
• Strong scientific programming skills, including Python and data-processing, visualization, statistical-analysis, and validation packages.
• Experience with cloud computing, meteorological and geospatial formats such as NetCDF, GRIB, Zarr, GeoJSON, METAR, and TAF.
• Understanding of data architecture and pipelines, structured and unstructured datasets, and AI-assisted development and communication workflows.
