Research Assistant (Psychology)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; on-campus travel to the MRI scanner is required

Salary: $45,000–$50,000 per year, commensurate with experience

What you will do

• Support and coordinate research projects in the Multimethod Affect and Cognition Lab.
• Collect psychophysiological, EEG, and fMRI data from human research participants.
• Recruit, screen, and interview participants experiencing anxiety or depression.
• Supervise and support undergraduate research assistants during data collection.
• Prepare IRB applications, grant documents, funder reports, and other research materials.
• Complete additional research, laboratory, and project administration tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to travel independently in an employee-owned vehicle to the on-campus MRI scanner.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
• Strong organization, computer, and office software skills.
• Professional and positive interaction with research participants and laboratory members.

Nice to have

• Experience in a psychology, psychiatry, or related research laboratory.
• Experience with emotion-focused psychophysiology research.
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field completed by Fall 2026.
• Statistical expertise.
