Software Developer (Android Focused)

Location: Hybrid role based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, at the Meadowvale Office

What you will do

• Develop Android features for enrollment, application management, kiosk and lockdown experiences, remote support, and device security.
• Write scalable, reliable, testable, reusable code using clean code and solid software development principles.
• Contribute throughout the development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, optimization, and documentation.
• Detect, investigate, report, and fix product defects across a broad range of Android devices, manufacturers, operating system versions, and enterprise deployment models.
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain high standards for software quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, quality, support, security, and device-partner teams while contributing ideas for new projects.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of related industry experience in software development and at least 2 years of Android application development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android, Linux, Gradle, Git, Gerrit, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software architecture.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, logical-thinking, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience or strong interest in agile methods such as Scrum, XP, Behavior-Driven Development, and Continuous Delivery.
• Computer Science or Mathematics education is preferred.

Nice to have

• Strong background in C# and the .NET platform.
• Experience developing server-client applications.
• Experience developing Linux applications.
