Freelance Business Analyst (Data)

Location: Bulgaria — Remote

Project duration: 6 months, full-time, starting as soon as possible

What you will do

• Define and document data requirements for a Loyalty Revenue Accounting solution built on Databricks.
• Specify business logic, calculations, allocations, transaction treatment rules, and source-to-target mappings.
• Write requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira for engineering and quality engineering teams.
• Maintain traceability from business needs through requirements, mappings, and solution design.
• Identify gaps, edge cases, and anomalies, presenting options and impact.
• Collaborate with product, finance, loyalty, data engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders through delivery and sign-off.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data-focused projects such as data platforms, data warehouses, or data migrations.
• Experience defining business logic and data mapping logic, beyond high-level process requirements.
• Strong written requirements skills, including managing requirements in Jira.
• Ability to read and reason about data structures, tables, and fields, with working knowledge of SQL.
• Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile delivery team with evolving requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks or a similar cloud data platform.
• Experience in finance, revenue accounting, or accounting journals.
• Experience with loyalty, airline, or travel data.
• Familiarity with event-driven or streaming data sources.
• Experience in consulting.
