Senior Digital & Technology Risk Manager (AI)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid work with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week

Salary: CHF 128,000–192,000 base salary per year for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design and evolve the group-wide AI risk framework, governance model, control objectives, KPIs and KRIs.
• Develop, maintain and improve AI risk policies, standards and methodologies in line with operational risk frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Provide independent Second Line of Defence oversight and constructive challenge of First Line AI risk practices, governance and controls.
• Lead risk-based thematic reviews and deep dives into material AI risk exposures, identifying deficiencies and escalating significant concerns.
• Translate emerging risks and regulatory developments involving generative AI, agentic AI, autonomous systems and AI-enabled processes into practical requirements.
• Prepare risk reporting for senior management and governance committees and advise stakeholders on risk exposure, acceptance and emerging developments.

Requirements

• At least seven years of relevant experience in operational risk, technology risk, AI governance, risk advisory or assurance.
• Experience with independent risk assessment, oversight and credible challenge, preferably in a Second Line of Defence function.
• Experience developing or reviewing enterprise policies, standards or risk management methodologies.
• Practical understanding of AI technologies, including generative and agentic AI, associated risks, governance and controls.
• Strong judgement, risk assessment and thematic review experience, with the ability to communicate actionable conclusions to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English required. An academic qualification in risk management, AI, IT, computer science, business or a related discipline is expected.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as IAPP AIGP, CRISC, CISA or CISSP.
• Experience in financial services, insurance or reinsurance, including work with regulators, auditors or industry bodies.
• Familiarity with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001.
• Experience working in a complex international organisation and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
