What you will do

• Design and maintain ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies for clinical and scientific concepts.
• Ensure semantic interoperability across CDISC SDTM/ADaM, HL7 FHIR, and OMOP CDM standards.
• Partner with data architecture and engineering teams to embed semantic structures into schemas, knowledge graphs, and metadata layers.
• Work with AI/ML teams to provide structured and well-defined knowledge representations.
• Map external data sources and terminologies to the semantic layer as integrations are introduced.
• Own ontology documentation and governance.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in biomedical informatics, computer science, linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience building or maintaining ontologies or taxonomies in healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research.
• Strong knowledge of SNOMED CT, MedDRA, LOINC, RxNorm, CDISC, HL7 FHIR, and OMOP.
• Hands-on experience with OWL, RDF, SPARQL, Protégé, or equivalent ontology and knowledge-graph tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale enterprise data integration.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs for LLM grounding and reasoning.
• Experience with regulatory-facing clinical data and FDA/EMA submissions.
