Data Scientist (Experimentation Platform)

Location: Hybrid role based in Porto, Portugal

What you will do

• Take technical ownership of the Python-based Statistical Engine within the Experimentation Platform.
• Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely results for A/B tests and experiment analysis.
• Extend the platform with new statistical methods, experiment designs, and analytical capabilities.
• Improve the maintainability, scalability, reliability, and data integration of the platform.
• Work with Data Engineering to improve data availability and integration with the Data Platform.
• Partner with Data Analysts, Engineers, and Product Managers to solve experimentation challenges and explore AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• Strong Python skills and experience developing or maintaining applications.
• Understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing.
• Experience working with SQL and analysing datasets.
• Familiarity with version control, software testing, and software development practices.
• Ability to investigate problems, improve existing solutions, and communicate effectively across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms.
• Knowledge of causal inference or variance reduction.
• Experience with Google Cloud or BigQuery.
• Knowledge of machine learning or AI-assisted development tools.
