Software Engineer, Foundation AI

Location: San Mateo, California, United States. Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.

Salary: $153,120–$196,750 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Build and shape the platform that runs autonomous AI agents across internal and external Roblox products.
• Design secure, durable, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure for agent workloads.
• Support systems operating at massive scale for millions of creators and thousands of engineers.
• Learn and adapt as agentic systems and AI capabilities evolve.
• Experiment with and share agentic workflows to help shape the future of work at Roblox.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience or recent graduation, with strong computer science fundamentals.
• Interest in infrastructure, distributed systems, and agentic systems.
• Experience building projects, completing internships, or contributing to open source.
• Experience building something with AI agents and the ability to explain what failed or changed during development.
• Ability to write production code in Go, Python, Rust, or a similar language.
• Strong learning ability, initiative, and willingness to investigate unfamiliar systems.
