Playtest Operations Producer (Gaming)

Location: Shanghai, China; onsite playtest lab operations required

Riot Games develops player-focused video games, including League of Legends, and supports research and development for new products.

What you will do

• Plan and execute playtests and research studies from intake through closeout, managing schedules, dependencies, resources, and deliverables.
• Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, communications, and compensation with internal teams and external vendors.
• Prepare and operate the Shanghai playtest lab, including device configuration, recording equipment, audiovisual systems, basic networking, and onsite troubleshooting.
• Translate research objectives and participant requirements into operational plans and ensure sessions are ready and effectively executed.
• Coordinate China-based and global stakeholders, regional handoffs, vendors, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Improve research operations through documentation, inventory management, standardized workflows, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in research operations, project coordination, production, or project management.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience operating computer labs, audiovisual systems, or comparable technical environments.
• Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, schedules, dependencies, deliverables, project plans, and tracking systems.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Jira, Miro, or Notion.
• Experience coordinating participant-facing activities, research sessions, events, or comparable operational programs.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is required; international business travel is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with user research operations, playtests, participant recruitment, or research study coordination.
• Knowledge of participant sampling, audience definitions, recruitment incidence rates, or quantitative research methods.
• Experience with Salesforce, participant databases, CRM platforms, or recruitment communication tools.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, audiovisual equipment, basic networking, or IT systems.
• Experience using Python or PowerShell for operational automation.
