Threat Investigator Team Lead (Gaming)

Location: US-based; remote work is available from the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., or Austin. San Francisco Bay Area employees may work from the SF office.

Salary: US base salary of $132,000–$148,500 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of investigators and analysts.
• Own investigative quality, workload prioritization, queue health, and team performance.
• Escalate and guide complex, ambiguous, and high-risk investigations.
• Lead deep-dive network investigations, proactive detection, case development, and intelligence production.
• Translate investigative findings into threat-prioritization, policy, and enforcement recommendations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, government, industry, and other external partners during investigations and incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in threat intelligence, investigations, incident response, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of prior people-management experience.
• Deep expertise in an extremist or violent-threat-actor ecosystem.
• Experience coaching investigators, improving quality standards, and supporting career development.
• Strong judgment in ambiguous, fast-changing situations and fluency with investigative and case-management tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams, disciplines, and time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience working with sensitive or potentially disturbing material.
• Additional language proficiency relevant to high-harm threat-actor communities.
• Experience presenting complex threat findings to senior leaders or external audiences.
