State and Local Tax - Sales and Use Intern (Tax)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; travel to assigned client locations is required

What you will do

• Support state and local tax services for new and existing clients.
• Complete tax planning and research assignments and develop knowledge of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• Review client tax processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to reduce tax exposure.
• Work with client information technology personnel to obtain historical purchasing and sales data for reporting, audit procedures, refunds, and credits.
• Assist with evaluating sales and use tax software and supporting implementation.
• Collaborate with clients and engagement teams across multiple assignments.

Requirements

• At least 90 completed credit hours.
• Currently pursuing a B.A. or B.S. degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange reliable transportation.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
