Tax Intern

Location: In-person in Austin, Texas, US; part-time spring internship, 20 hours per week.

What you will do

• Support the Director of Tax & Treasury with day-to-day tax compliance activities.
• Prepare and file monthly Texas sales tax returns and Canada GST/HST returns.
• Review state income tax notices and gather supporting documentation.
• Organize estimated tax payment files and support quarterly income tax calculations.
• Reconcile tax accounts and maintain accurate, audit-ready tax workpapers.
• Research tax positions and assist with related tax processes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting; a fourth- or fifth-year MPA student is preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numerical data.
• Proficiency with Excel and general financial documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Interest in pursuing a career in tax and willingness to learn and collaborate.
