Cloud FinOps Engineer II (AWS)

Location: Flexible hybrid model; in-person interviews may be required for positions based in Boston and Dublin.

Salary: $109,000–$136,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Build and maintain AWS cloud cost attribution, tagging, allocation, ownership, and cost-center mapping capabilities.
• Implement CloudZero integrations, dashboards, reports, and data quality checks.
• Develop automation for cost anomaly detection, alerting, investigation, and savings workflows.
• Define unit-cost metrics and support showback and chargeback with Engineering, Product, Finance, and FinOps stakeholders.
• Establish FinOps checkpoints in the software development lifecycle and create self-service cost tools and documentation.
• Support cloud and AI cost governance, including Bedrock usage visibility, model-cost controls, rightsizing, lifecycle management, Savings Plans, and Graviton adoption.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, cloud cost management, or FinOps-related engineering in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting production workloads in AWS.
• Working knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Python, Go, Bash, or another scripting language.
• Understanding of tagging, allocation, usage reporting, anomaly detection, and cloud cost management concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach to engineering and product partnerships.

Nice to have

• Experience with CloudZero, AWS Cost Explorer, CUR, or similar FinOps tooling.
• Experience partnering with Finance or FP&A on cloud budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and business reporting.
• Curiosity about AI infrastructure, model usage, and cloud service economics.
