Systems Engineer (Avionics)

What you will do

• Define system architectures and requirements, lead technical trade studies, and guide integration, verification, and validation.
• Design aircraft data management technologies using embedded databases and digital communications.
• Translate operational requirements into system module designs and verification strategies.
• Integrate and troubleshoot prototype hardware and software across avionics subsystems.
• Conduct root cause analysis with OEMs and customers to resolve field issues.
• Develop system-level test procedures, automated test frameworks, and technical documentation, while supporting production transition and field deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 2 years of relevant systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related experience.
• Experience with Python for automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with hardware integration, software debugging, troubleshooting, and system-level testing in avionics environments.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into robust system designs and perform root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of communications protocols, networking, protocol analysis such as TCP/IP and UDP, and network architecture design.
• Must be a U.S. Person, including a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts.
• Experience under ISO 9001 guidelines and in avionics or aerospace systems.
• Familiarity with wireless and networked avionics systems, including Wi-Fi and cellular technologies.
• Familiarity with database systems.
