What you will do

• Design, analyze, integrate, test, and support production of mechanical systems for unmanned ground vehicles.
• Develop mechanical architectures, layouts, detailed parts, and assemblies using 3D CAD.
• Create, conduct, analyze, and document prototype and product system tests.
• Investigate mechanical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive rapid resolution of design and development problems.
• Specify materials for chemical compatibility and support continuous improvement of existing products.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, manufacturing, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of relevant experience developing electromechanical systems.
• Experience with a 3D CAD package and thermal design and analysis.
• Knowledge of injection molding, CNC-machined parts, and sheet-metal part design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to apply for and obtain an appropriate export control license.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Robotics experience and proficiency with Creo Parametric or analysis software.
• Experience designing rugged, reliable military systems and using ASME drafting, GD&T, PLM, and rapid prototyping methods.
• Experience with small mechanisms, kinematics and dynamics, structural design, stress and fatigue analysis.
