News Video Editor (NewsNation)

Location: On-site in New York, NY, United States. The schedule may include mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and breaking-news coverage.

Salary: $50–$60 per hour.

What you will do

• Edit VOs, SOTs, teases, interviews, packages, and long-form content for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with producers and editorial teams to execute creative and editorial direction.
• Apply news judgment, storytelling, pacing, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Organize and prepare media using newsroom and file-transfer systems.
• Manage multiple assignments and meet daily and breaking-news deadlines.
• Ensure content meets editorial, technical, branding, and delivery standards while communicating missing media or technical issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional video-editing experience in network news, live television, or a major-market newsroom.
• Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro skills and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Experience with BitCentral or a similar newsroom media-management platform.
• Experience with Latakoo or similar media-transfer tools.
• Strong news judgment, storytelling, communication, collaboration, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to work in a fast-paced live-news environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Frame.io review and approval workflows.
• Familiarity with ENPS or similar newsroom systems.
• Experience preparing content for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Knowledge of newsroom style guides and broadcast technical standards.
• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, broadcast production, film, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
