Video Editor, KTRK - Part Time

Salary: $36,600–$48,900 per year, based on a 28-hour work week; scheduled hours may vary.

Disney Entertainment Television operates eight owned ABC stations, including KTRK/ABC13, a local news and weather station serving Houston across broadcast, streaming, web, app, and social platforms.

What you will do

• Edit video and transform video and data into relevant information for local news broadcasts.
• Support linear and streaming newscasts, websites, apps, and social media platforms.
• Manage assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining creative and precise editing standards.
• Use live signal intake and server-based digital media workflows.
• Apply sound news judgment and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Work with the newsroom and contribute to coverage during extended breaking-news situations.

Requirements

• Three years of experience editing on non-linear systems.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Dalet Galaxy, and live signal intake.
• Knowledge of digital newsroom operations and broadcast and streaming workflows.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, technical troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work any shift and any day, including overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended breaking-news coverage.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, or a related field.
