Tech Lead

Location: Fully remote within the United States. Must be legally authorized to work in the US and able to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination. No visa sponsorship is provided.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead architecture and implementation decisions across WordPress, Drupal, Salesforce, and REST API integrations.
• Modernize legacy platforms into scalable, enterprise-grade systems.
• Set coding standards, review architecture and code, and drive continuous technical improvement.
• Ensure accessible, secure, reliable, and high-performing releases that meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 standards.
• Act as the technical point of contact for clients, communicating tradeoffs, risks, recommendations, and release priorities.
• Mentor engineers and designers while guiding iterative delivery, quality practices, and technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant software development or technical leadership experience, plus five years leading or contributing to projects of similar size and complexity.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress and Drupal, including theming, custom module or plugin development, content architecture, and platform migration or consolidation.
• Experience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs across multiple systems.
• Experience leading technical teams, mentoring colleagues, working in Agile/Scrum environments, and communicating with client and executive stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of accessible development and design practices, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination.

Nice to have

• Federal government or federal consulting experience.
• Salesforce configuration, customization, and external-system integration experience.
• AWS, Azure, or Cloud.gov certifications.
• DevSecOps experience and knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, or other federal security frameworks.
• Experience with content management system migrations and platform modernization.
