Junior QA Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Bracknell, UK; hybrid working with 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

What you will do

• Perform manual testing of web platforms, desktop applications, and API integrations.
• Create test scenarios from functional requirements, technical specifications, and user acceptance criteria.
• Investigate, reproduce, document, and track software defects, including regression testing after changes.
• Validate application behavior across environments and identify usability, compatibility, and performance issues.
• Work with developers and product stakeholders to resolve defects and improve product quality.
• Support debugging, minor code changes, unit test development, and the introduction of automated testing checks.

Requirements

• Some knowledge of software testing or quality assurance gained through work, study, placements, projects, or training.
• Logical problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate unexpected software behavior.
• Basic programming knowledge, including object-oriented concepts such as classes, objects, inheritance, and encapsulation.
• Introductory knowledge of databases, client/server architecture, APIs, web services, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, or XML.
• Clear communication skills, a proactive attitude, and willingness to build a career in software testing and development.
• Legal right to work in the UK required.

Nice to have

• ISTQB Foundation certification or another relevant software testing qualification.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Exposure to C#, .NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, SQL, API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger, or unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and software quality checks.
