Middle/Senior Python Engineer (AWS)

hirify.global is hiring for an engineering and technology role focused on software development.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain event-driven Python microservices and AWS Lambda functions.
• Build asynchronous integrations across Amazon SQS, EventBridge, and Amazon MSK with retries, error handling, and idempotency.
• Model and optimize application data in Amazon DocumentDB while maintaining data integrity and service performance.
• Own features from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Build automated unit, integration, and BDD test coverage and provision infrastructure with Terraform.
• Review code, mentor engineers, maintain CI/CD quality practices, and establish observability with logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alarms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience, including modern packaging with Poetry.
• Production experience with AWS Lambda, serverless AWS technologies, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with SQS, EventBridge, Kafka or Amazon MSK, and document databases such as Amazon DocumentDB or MongoDB.
• Practical knowledge of pytest, integration testing, BDD frameworks such as behave, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience implementing structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alarms in production.
• Strong ownership, communication, code-review, mentoring, security, and maintainable engineering skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Copilot, AI coding assistants, agent workflows, or MCP integrations.
