Manufacturing Engineer I – Fabrication Operations

What you will do

• Own and maintain fabrication processes, routings, work instructions, labor standards, and ERP data, with SAP preferred.
• Define process flows, operation sequences, manufacturing methods, cycle times, and capacity requirements.
• Design, release, debug, and sustain tooling, weld fixtures, jigs, and hard tooling for fabrication and robotic welding.
• Lead root cause corrective action for safety, quality, delivery, and cost issues using 5-Why, Fishbone, A3, and related methods.
• Analyze OEE, scrap, rework, dimensional, and process capability data to improve throughput, weld quality, ergonomics, automation utilization, and cost.
• Support daily production troubleshooting, new product introduction, manufacturability reviews, and collaboration with Operations, Quality, and Product Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience with manufacturing and fabrication processes and end-to-end process improvement.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and structured problem management processes.
• Ability to evaluate complex shop-floor problems and implement effective solutions.
• Experience or coursework in cutting, forming, bending, machining, welding, assembly, material flow, quality control, or related manufacturing activities.
• Ability to analyze production data and translate findings into measurable results.
• Work is based onsite in Athens, Georgia, United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Welding, or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• CAD experience with Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar tools.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, weld symbols, tolerances, and manufacturability requirements.
• Hands-on experience with welding, robotic welding, automation, CNC equipment, or safety process improvements.
