Software Engineer Team Lead (C++)

Location: Remote from Israel

hirify.global develops a next-generation NoSQL database for extreme throughput, predictable low latency, and large-scale production workloads.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow a distributed team of 4–6 engineers.
• Spend approximately 50% of the time designing, coding, and reviewing performance-sensitive software.
• Develop the hirify.global server core, including I/O, caching, data placement, compaction, repair, and compression.
• Build and maintain encryption, backup, restore, and object storage management capabilities.
• Collaborate with core development, cloud, and field teams to turn customer needs into robust engineering solutions.
• Communicate through mailing lists, commit messages, design discussions, and bug reports while contributing to the open-source community.

Requirements

• Must be based in Israel.
• 5+ years of experience developing kernel or server-side systems.
• Strong modern C++ skills, including C++20.
• Analytical approach and ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Track record of improving engineering quality and supporting the growth of other engineers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a distributed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with database internals.
• Hands-on experience with cloud object storage such as AWS S3 or Google Cloud Storage.
• Open-source development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
