Mid-Level QA Engineer (AI & Automation)

Location: Remote in Portugal; existing legal right to work in the European Union required.

Salary: €4,410–€5,250 gross for B2B or €2,300–€2,650 net for a permanent contract.

What you will do

• Define the QA organization structure and establish standards for manual and automated testing.
• Lead and coordinate the QA Tribe, driving consistent adoption of testing frameworks, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders on test frameworks, environments, infrastructure, and test data.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and track quality KPIs, testing insights, and defect trends at organizational level.
• Expand coverage from core user flows across the platform, support challenging testing scenarios, and foster a quality-driven culture.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of manual and automated testing practices, test automation, CI/CD, and modern testing tools.
• Hands-on experience with test frameworks, test environments, and test data management.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build high-performing QA teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI applications in daily QA work.
• Certifications in testing or automation tools.
• Experience with cloud environments and Kubernetes.
