TL;DR
Senior Accountant Specialist - SSC (Accounting/IFRS): Managing end-to-end General Ledger and shared service accounting processes across multiple entities with an accent on reconciliations, period-end closing, IFRS 16, and financial reporting. Focus on improving and automating accounting processes, supporting SSC transitions, resolving complex discrepancies, and guiding junior team members.

Location: Érd, Hungary; hybrid work with home office available up to 60%

What you will do

  • Manage end-to-end accounting activities across General Ledger, Intercompany, Asset Accounting, and AR/AP.
  • Prepare journal entries, bank transactions, invoice reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and open-item reviews.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting, and KPI monitoring.
  • Handle IFRS 16 lease accounting and ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, internal policies, and controls.
  • Participate in SSC transitions, process standardization, documentation, improvement, and automation initiatives.
  • Support audits, collaborate with international stakeholders, and guide junior colleagues through knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
  • 4–6+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a strong General Ledger background and Shared Service Center experience.
  • Strong ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, together with advanced Excel and analytical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, internal controls, local GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Ability to independently investigate complex accounting issues and work accurately in a high-volume environment.
  • Very good written and spoken English at C1 level, with strong communication, stakeholder management, and international collaboration skills.

  • Experience in a Shared Service Center environment.
  • Knowledge of an additional language.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, optimization, or automation initiatives.
