What you will do

• Identify open problems, theoretical bounds, and research challenges for rigorous investigation.
• Use AI models and agents to explore proofs, develop algorithms, and run computational simulations.
• Verify research outputs through proof checking, numerical reproduction, and formal tools.
• Evaluate findings for novelty and correctness against recent scientific literature.
• Document research methods, partial results, challenges, and promising research directions.

Requirements

• Late-stage PhD, postdoctoral, or early-career academic experience with 0–5 years post-PhD in computer science or mathematical/computational physics.
• Strong research record with recent publications in leading conferences or journals.
• Expertise in computational methods, including simulation, numerical analysis, and algorithm implementation.
• Ability to rigorously assess research findings and compare them with existing literature.

Nice to have

• Research recognition such as best paper or dissertation awards at leading venues including STOC, FOCS, SODA, PLDI, or SC.
• Experience reviewing or sub-reviewing for prominent conferences.
• Familiarity with frontier AI models, research agents, Lean, or SAT/SMT solvers.
• A publicly available research statement or homepage describing open problems under investigation.
