Operations Representative (Financial Services)

Location: Hybrid role based at 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, then at 3 Robert Speck Parkway in Mississauga, Canada. Current Canadian work authorization is required.

Salary: CAD 26.00–30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Fidelity Clearing Canada provides trade execution, clearing, custody, settlement, and back-office support services to Canadian brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms.

What you will do

• Settle CAD, USD, and international trades through CDS, DTC, Citi-Direct, and FedWire.
• Compare and match trades across Dataphile, securities depositories, custodians, and payment systems.
• Report unmatched, failing, unconfirmed, and DK'd trades to correspondents, clients, and counterparties.
• Allocate security positions and coordinate required deliveries with the securities lending department.
• Prepare buy-in notices, maintain settlement instructions, and retrieve sensitive client documentation.
• Respond to client requests and prepare operational reports for clients and management.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in operations or client services within financial services, preferably brokerage, correspondent clearing, or custody.
• Completion of a two-year post-secondary program or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong customer service, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of brokerage operations, settlement processes, SLOs, KPIs, and applicable operational rules.
• Current Canadian work authorization is required.

Nice to have

• CSC or CSI operations-related coursework.
• Experience with DTC, CDS, Arrow, or other securities settlement depositories.
• Knowledge of buy-in processes and Broadridge Dataphile.
