Sr Engineer, Cloud Native - AI Detection and Response (AIDR) (Hybrid)

Location: USA — Sunnyvale, California; hybrid work requiring 2–3 days per week on-site

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity awards.

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable AI Detection and Response cloud services processing millions of security events per second.
• Design and implement microservices, frameworks, reusable platform libraries, and cloud-native components.
• Develop comprehensive tests and conduct code and design reviews focused on security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Integrate services with the broader platform ecosystem and APIs.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding, testing methodologies, and cloud-native development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience building enterprise-grade products.
• 5+ years of experience developing microservices in cloud-native environments.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least one of Go, Python, or Java.
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures, REST, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale, California 2–3 days per week and pass additional background and fingerprint checks required for some government customers.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity or security-focused products.
• Understanding of AI/ML security threats and mitigation strategies.
• Experience with Kafka, Pulsar, Splunk, AWS, OCI, GCP, Azure, API Gateway, or Microsoft Copilot and Agent Studio.
• Open-source contributions and experience building highly scalable cloud-native services.
