Superconducting Circuit Quantum Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. The role includes approximately 10% travel and is relocation eligible.

Salary: $138,000–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and develop superconducting quantum circuits and devices, including qubits, resonators, couplers, and test structures.
• Develop and optimize materials, fabrication, patterning, deposition, etch, and device-integration processes.
• Design experiments, analyze material, electrical, microwave, and device data, and translate findings into performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex device and process issues through root-cause analysis, improving yield and reproducibility.
• Collaborate across materials, process engineering, device design, characterization, and integration teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and work with customers, research partners, vendors, and suppliers on technology opportunities.

Requirements

• Strong background in superconducting qubit devices and practical expertise in the relevant discipline.
• Hands-on experience with superconducting circuit or device design, microfabrication, nanofabrication, and cryogenic characterization.
• Knowledge of materials, interfaces, patterning, deposition, etch, device integration, and semiconductor processing.
• Ability to solve complex problems, interpret multiple sources of information, and communicate difficult technical topics.
• Ability to work in Santa Clara, California, United States; travel is required approximately 10% of the time.
• New college graduate status is accepted for this position.
