Senior Quantum Engineer, Hybrid Interconnect (Quantum)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Full-time onsite role with approximately 10% travel. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $138,000–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop hybrid quantum interconnect technologies for scalable and modular quantum systems.
• Design devices for quantum transduction, single-photon detection, quantum memory, and solid-state qubit-to-photon interfaces.
• Translate system and interconnect requirements into device, materials, fabrication, and integration specifications.
• Design, test, and characterize hybrid quantum devices using electrical, optical, microwave, and cryogenic methods.
• Develop and optimize fabrication and heterogeneous integration processes across superconducting, photonic, semiconductor, and quantum materials.
• Collaborate across quantum physics, photonics, device engineering, materials, packaging, process engineering, and systems engineering.

Requirements

• Advanced expertise in quantum devices and interfaces.
• Experience in one or more areas including quantum transduction, single-photon detection, quantum memory, or solid-state qubit interfaces to optical or microwave photons.
• Experience with device design, fabrication, and characterization is highly desirable.
• Ability to analyze relationships among materials, interfaces, fabrication processes, and quantum performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex device and integration challenges and improve performance, reproducibility, and scalability.
• Ability to communicate difficult concepts and lead or influence collaborative technical work.
