Electrical Manufacturing NPI Engineer (Data Center Networking)

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing readiness and production transfer for complex data center networking products, including switches, routers, line cards, and optical transport equipment.
• Plan production line layouts, capacity models, capital equipment procurement, and manufacturing technology roadmaps.
• Lead DFM, DFA, DFT, and other DFX reviews for high-speed interconnects, optical modules, RF paths, advanced packaging, and high-layer-count PCBs.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, functional testing, ATE, burn-in, traffic generation, and full line-rate test strategies.
• Manage component selection, supplier process audits, sustaining engineering, and cross-functional collaboration across design, NPI, manufacturing, mechanical, and thermal engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, including 3 or more years in NPI and successful high-volume product launches in data center networking equipment.
• Expertise in high-layer-count PCBA manufacturing, BGA/FC-BGA soldering and rework, and large-format electronic board process control.
• Experience designing and qualifying production functional test systems and managing test coverage for complex network systems.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, DOE, high-speed signal integrity, optical testing, and thermal solutions such as water or liquid cooling.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills for influencing technical and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with global contract manufacturers or ODMs producing complex networking or telecommunications equipment.
• Experience with TDR, VNA, optical power analysis, and high-speed data transmission testing.
• Fluency in JMP and Python for statistical analysis.
