Audio Annotation Analyst (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States

Base pay: $60,000–$80,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Review and annotate audio recordings, video content, and associated interaction data using project-specific classification guidelines.
• Identify fraud indicators, authentication outcomes, synthetic or human-generated content, intent, and other research attributes.
• Apply annotation standards across large datasets, review labels for discrepancies, and maintain dataset quality.
• Flag ambiguous or out-of-scope interactions, document observations, and collaborate with Research Scientists on edge cases.
• Investigate audio and video interactions for background noise, quality degradation, IVR gaps, and unexpected model behavior.
• Maintain annotation records and summarize findings, recurring patterns, and classification inconsistencies.

Requirements

• Excellent listening and observational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform high-volume, repetitive annotation and review work while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to recognize ambiguous cases, document findings clearly, and escalate questions appropriately.
• Familiarity with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets.
• Clear written communication, independent work habits, workload management, and the ability to meet timelines in a remote environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive audio, video, and interaction data according to privacy, security, and confidentiality guidelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with data annotation, audio or video labeling, transcription, quality assurance, or qualitative data review.
• Familiarity with fraud detection, authentication, voice biometrics, trust and safety, contact centers, or IVR workflows.
• Understanding of synthetic speech, replay attacks, deepfakes, intent recognition, or speech analysis.
• Experience with annotation platforms, structured review tools, or basic SQL and data-querying concepts.
