Facilities Process / Mechanical Owner’s Representative (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States. Primarily remote, with 50% on-site presence in Boise during the first month and one week on-site per month thereafter. The role includes field walks at active construction and industrial sites.

Salary: $106,100 per year.

What you will do

• Act as the owner’s representative for process chemical and mechanical disciplines on semiconductor manufacturing and facility infrastructure projects.
• Review P&IDs, equipment layouts, detail drawings, construction documents, design packages, and vendor submittals.
• Oversee designs, retrofit calculations, and component specifications for ultrapure water, wastewater treatment, chemical and gas distribution, waste drains, pumps, and storage systems.
• Maintain technical specifications, engineering design standards, and system guidelines.
• Support construction by addressing RFIs, reviewing installation documentation, and providing engineering guidance through equipment integration.
• Coordinate with client stakeholders, site personnel, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 5 years of wastewater treatment facilities engineering experience, including waste systems chemistry in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
• At least 3 years of chemical/mechanical facilities engineering experience covering ultrapure water, chemical and gas distribution, process piping, exhaust, waste drains, pumps, and tank storage.
• At least 3 years of experience in design project delivery processes.
• Must be fully authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Background check and drug screen required.
• Ability to perform field walks and physical work at industrial sites, including climbing ladders, navigating small spaces, and lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor cleanroom environments or with complex manufacturing tools.
• Active field experience in industrial facilities.
• Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer license.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, leadership, prioritization, written, and verbal communication skills.
