Robotics Prototype Engineer

Location: On-site in Vancouver, Canada

Base salary: $80,000–$95,000 CAD per year

hirify.global develops commercially scalable and safe hirify.global robots, including the HMND-01 platform for industrial environments.

What you will do

• Assemble and integrate robotic end-effectors, actuators, sensors, and electro-mechanical components.
• Test robotic components and troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues.
• Calibrate sensors, commission actuators, and optimize robotic system performance.
• Support prototyping of hirify.global robot designs, including hand and arm systems and robotic manipulation components.
• Document test results, failures, corrective actions, technical manuals, SOPs, and maintenance guides.
• Perform maintenance, upgrades, equipment management, and inventory control for robotic subassemblies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• At least 3 years of experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting robotic systems.
• Experience with precision mechanics, custom electronics, sensor integration, fine-pitch soldering, and thin cable assembly.
• Familiarity with actuator and sensor calibration, robotic control systems, motor drives, encoder protocols, and system wiring.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Vancouver, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global robot development, tactile and force sensors, actuator encoders, or human-robot interaction.
• Rapid prototyping experience with FDM or SLA resin 3D printing, CNC machining, or laser cutting.
• Experience with precision measurement instruments and environmental testing equipment.
