Senior Backend Engineer - Core team (AI)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid with 3 days per week in the office. Up to 15 days of remote work from abroad each year.

Salary: €72,000–€115,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and lead backend services and event-driven architectures for high-volume data and long-term scalability.
• Build and maintain core data models and capabilities used by client, studio, location, franchise, and other product teams.
• Develop the AI semantic layer and core features for authentication, permissions, franchise administration, subscriptions, webshops, retail, VOD, and passes.
• Write robust, maintainable Python code and improve code reviews, testing, and continuous integration and delivery.
• Monitor and optimize backend performance using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Kibana, and Sentry.
• Collaborate with Data, Product, DevOps, and Backend teams while providing technical leadership and mentoring.

Requirements

• Substantial professional experience with Python; Django experience is valuable.
• Experience designing systems from data models through networking and working with challenging technical implementations.
• Experience operating systems at scale for tens of millions of users.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Experience or strong interest in domain-driven development, ownership, cross-team leadership, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Django REST Framework, and observability practices.
