Data Products & Management Director (Fintech Engineering)

Location: Hybrid in Warsaw or Kraków, Poland

Building InPost Pay from a checkout product into a full financial platform within InPost, using proprietary payments, checkout, and delivery data.

What you will do

• Own the data and AI strategy and its delivery for the fintech build.
• Build and lead Data Engineering & Analytics, ML & MLOps, and Data Product functions from scratch.
• Own the data and ML platform, including Databricks, the lakehouse, feature store, model serving, monitoring, and retraining.
• Set the production standard for agentic systems, including orchestration, guardrails, evaluation, human-in-the-loop workflows, observability, cost, and latency.
• Lead budget planning, platform and tooling investments, hiring, and measurable return on investment.
• Report to the board on platform readiness, governance, delivery risk, and business outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience leading data engineering or ML organisations and 5+ years managing managers or team leads.
• Experience with financial services, payments, or lending data platforms, including lakehouses, feature stores, and point-in-time-correct data serving.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting production agentic systems, agentic harnesses, and loop or graph workflows.
• Experience building and leading ML teams in regulated environments, with knowledge of governance, explainability, auditability, and observability.
• Fluency with Databricks and Spark at scale, plus confidence working with VP and C-level stakeholders.
• Fluent English at B2+ level and availability for hybrid work in Poland.
