Backend Engineer (Data)

What you will do

• Develop end-to-end client-facing and data infrastructure features, from data processing to database selection, modeling, and implementation.
• Build analytics capabilities using complex data aggregation, analytical databases, and APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to deliver complex products.
• Analyze and improve the performance, scalability, and stability of systems, environments, and tools.
• Contribute to meetups, conferences, technical publications, and open-source projects when relevant.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience and a strong focus on engineering quality.
• Experience in data engineering with Apache Spark using Scala or PySpark.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency, mission-critical distributed systems.
• Strong English communication skills are required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale production databases, Airflow, BigQuery ETL, and production-grade databases.
• Experience with production-grade Go or Clojure backend services.
• Strong server-side engineering skills.
• Interest in AI tools and applying an AI mindset to improve productivity.
