Sr Forward Deployed Engineer, AWS Forward Deployed Engineering (AI)

Location: Singapore; requires 30–50% travel for customer engagements.

What you will do

• Lead the technical strategy and delivery of complex, multi-workstream customer AI programs.
• Design and build production-scale architectures for multi-agent orchestration, enterprise retrieval systems, and decision intelligence platforms.
• Define operational standards, evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, observability standards, and incident response playbooks for AI systems.
• Create reusable engineering patterns and accelerators that reduce customer time-to-value.
• Mentor junior forward deployed engineers and contribute to interviewing, hiring, and engineering excellence.
• Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption and feed customer learnings back into AWS services and the FDE practice.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience and programming experience with at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale.
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AWS services and enterprise-scale AI/ML applications.
• Experience architecting complex, multi-component systems in customer production environments.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Experience leading customer-facing technical projects, managing external stakeholders, or working in Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environments.
