TL;DR
QA Engineer (Python/pytest): Designing and executing manual and automated tests for Mender software, covering functionality, performance, scalability, and security with an accent on Linux, REST APIs, and Agile quality practices. Focus on expanding test coverage, developing automation strategies, enabling faster developer testing, and improving release processes and tools.

Location: Oslo, remote, or Europe

What you will do

  • Create and execute test cases covering functionality, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Develop automated tests and manual test plans while increasing product test coverage.
  • Design automation strategies and select suitable testing techniques and tools.
  • Enable developers to run tests efficiently and ensure features are well documented.
  • Improve testing methodologies, release processes, and supporting tools.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software testing experience with SaaS products and/or embedded software.
  • Experience designing and executing functional, performance, and security tests.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP and REST APIs, plus experience with Linux.
  • Programming and scripting experience for automated testing with Python and pytest, shell, or another relevant language.
  • Fluency in English is required; basic understanding of Go, C, and C++ is expected.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Compose, GitHub or GitLab CI, Playwright, or Robot Framework.
