AI Industry Associate/Lead

Location: Remote; candidates in any location will be considered, with a preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to Europe.

What you will do

• Develop a rigorous strategy for AI development that does not depend on maximally general, autonomous AI systems.
• Track non-hyperscaling technical paths, including efficient and smaller models, open-source and open-science AI, physical AI, robotics, and industrial and scientific data applications.
• Engage policymakers and stakeholders involved in sovereign AI strategies, including EU institutions and member states, Brazil, and Canada.
• Translate technical and strategic analysis into concrete, policy-ready recommendations.
• Build partnerships and coalitions across policymakers, industry, institutions, and international partners.

Requirements

• Experience as a technology strategist, ideally in AI policy, industry, a startup, or the policy sector.
• Technical fluency in advanced AI capabilities trajectories, agentic systems, evaluation, and verification methods.
• Experience engaging policymakers outside the United States and China, or a demonstrated ability to do so.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, including the ability to produce policy-ready analysis and represent the organization in expert or high-level settings.
• Experience translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and managing stakeholders across institutions and international partners.
• Independence, initiative, and alignment with the mission of mitigating catastrophic risk while advancing positive futures.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in economics, computer science, or a technical AI discipline.
• Previous technology startup or technology industry experience.
• Experience in a safety-sensitive industrial sector where reliability is an operational requirement.
• Existing networks among frontier AI researchers and relevant policymakers.
