Cloud Networking & Virtualization Engineer (OVS/DPDK)

Location: Fully remote, from Spain only; occasional travel to project meetings and events may be required.

What you will do

• Integrate, deploy, maintain, and test Open vSwitch with DPDK and KVM-based virtual networking in Red Hat environments.
• Configure and validate SR-IOV, hugepages, NUMA pinning, and other performance features for demanding workloads.
• Maintain and extend one-deploy and Ansible automation for repeatable infrastructure deployment and configuration.
• Troubleshoot Linux, virtual networking, KVM, and integration incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
• Support Red Hat infrastructure lifecycle management, including Red Hat Satellite, and collaborate with customers and project teams on cloud and telco deployments.
• Write technical documentation, deployment procedures, troubleshooting runbooks, and project reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional hands-on experience with Open vSwitch using DPDK, including configuration, testing, or performance troubleshooting.
• Professional hands-on experience with Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
• Experience deploying, operating, or troubleshooting KVM virtualization on Red Hat systems and understanding host networking and resource interaction.
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish is required for customer meetings, technical discussions, and support.
• Professional or native-equivalent English fluency is required in writing and speech, and the role must be performed from Spain.

Nice to have

• Experience with SR-IOV, hugepages, NUMA pinning, enhanced platform awareness, Red Hat Satellite, OpenNebula, or one-deploy.
• Background in telecom, NFV/NFVI, or large private-cloud environments.
