Acoustic Engineer (Microphones)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work environment with most office-based roles onsite three days per week.

Annual gross base salary: HUF 11,709,000–17,173,200.

What you will do

• Develop and characterize cost-effective microphone, microphone capsule, and acoustic component designs.
• Define and execute acoustic measurement, testing, and validation plans for new product development and sustaining projects.
• Establish measurement methods, test conditions, fixtures, setups, golden samples, measurement limits, and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate prototypes, microphone capsules, and alternative acoustic components for new and existing products.
• Investigate acoustic root causes, troubleshoot issues, and support production, suppliers, and maintenance teams.
• Coordinate multiple engineering activities and collaborate with software, mechanical, process, test, quality, and product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in acoustics, electrical engineering, audio engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in acoustic engineering product development.
• Strong understanding of electroacoustic principles, microphone and transducer behavior, and acoustic measurement techniques.
• Intermediate English proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel as required by project demands and a valid category B driving license.

Nice to have

• Experience with professional microphones, microphone capsules, or other professional audio products.
• Knowledge of Mentor Graphics or a similar electronic hardware development environment.
• Knowledge of analogue audio electronics and acoustic, mechanical, and electrical design interaction.
• Hands-on experience with PCBA hand soldering, assembly, and modification.
• Experience with Audio Precision or the ability to play a musical instrument or sing.
