Staff Software Engineer for Storage Platform (AI)

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving, using embodied AI to help vehicles learn from real-world experience and operate safely at scale.

What you will do

• Lead a multi-quarter storage platform programme from problem definition and architecture through delivery and adoption.
• Build production services, controllers and infrastructure with Python, Go or a similar language, Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Improve access to petabyte-scale driving data by addressing read performance, caching, throttling and cross-region data movement.
• Design data ownership, tagging, retention, deletion and cost-attribution capabilities for large datasets.
• Strengthen access controls, auditing, encryption, secure replication and safe deletion in partnership with Security and Privacy.
• Define platform standards, dashboards and SLOs while mentoring engineers and aligning teams through design documents and RFCs.

Requirements

• Staff Engineer-level experience leading complex infrastructure programmes across multiple teams.
• Experience operating petabyte-scale object storage, including data layout, lifecycle management, performance and cost optimization.
• Experience building systems for data ownership, tagging, cataloguing, retention or deletion.
• Strong security and access-management experience, including IAM/RBAC, encryption, secure replication and auditing.
• Hands-on software engineering experience with Python, Go or comparable technologies, plus production Kubernetes, Terraform and CI.
• Ability to work on a hybrid basis from the London office.

• Experience with AWS or GCP.
• Interest in autonomy, learning and growing a platform team from a founding role.
