Corporate Governance Research Trainee (Iberian Market - Spanish Speaking)

Location: Brussels, Belgium; office-based five days a week and must be based in Belgium from the first day

Salary: €2,242.81 gross per month for a 5.5-month fixed-term contract from 18 January 2027 to 30 June 2027.

What you will do

• Support corporate governance research for voting recommendations provided to institutional investors.
• Analyze AGM and EGM agenda items and governance practices of publicly listed companies in Spain and Portugal.
• Review annual reports, governance reports, remuneration reports, meeting notices, and other public filings.
• Assess proposals covering director elections, executive remuneration, auditor appointments, capital authorities, and other governance matters.
• Apply benchmark voting guidelines and prepare detailed reports explaining voting recommendations.

Requirements

• Native-level Spanish is required.
• Fluent English is required in both spoken and written communication.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or current studies, in economics, business, finance, law, political science, international relations, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, research, synthesis, and professional writing skills.
• Ability to manage large amounts of information, competing deadlines, and independent work while contributing to a team.
• Organized, structured, and proactive approach to work.

Nice to have

• Reading proficiency in Portuguese.
• Prior experience or demonstrated interest in corporate governance, capital markets, company law, ESG, or financial markets.
