Robotics Software Architect (AI)

What you will do

• Define and evolve the software architecture of the humanoid robot platform, including component boundaries, interfaces, dependencies, lifecycle management, and communication patterns.
• Design infrastructure integrating control, sensing, actuation, AI, teleoperation, simulation, logging, diagnostics, and user-facing applications.
• Establish engineering standards for APIs, configuration, versioning, observability, testing, release management, and documentation.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, AI, electronics, and mechanical engineering teams to align software architecture with physical-system constraints.
• Support technical decisions through design reviews, prototypes, simulation, and testing on physical robots.
• Mentor engineers and technical leads while promoting clear ownership and sound engineering decisions.

Requirements

• Experience designing or evolving complex software systems across multiple components and teams.
• Strong software-engineering foundations with practical experience in modern C++, Python, and Git.
• Knowledge of secure development practices, including Security-by-Design, SSDLC, OWASP Top 10, OWASP ASVS, secure coding, authentication, authorization, cryptography, and secure communications.
• Understanding of vulnerability management, patching, embedded Linux security, and system hardening.
• Ability to communicate architecture clearly with technical and cross-functional stakeholders and work hands-on with physical systems.
• Professional proficiency in English and availability to travel nationally and internationally are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, autonomous machines, industrial automation, embedded products, vehicles, medical devices, or other reliability-critical physical systems.
• Knowledge of ROS 2, YARP, DDS, gRPC, Zenoh, WebRTC, real-time Linux, device drivers, fieldbuses, or industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with fleet management, reproducible builds, CI/CD, OTA updates, containers, telemetry, remote diagnostics, DevSecOps, SBOM, or secure firmware development.
• Experience designing observability, logging, tracing, replay, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, or test infrastructure for distributed cyber-physical systems.
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience; CSSLP certification and experience with cloud, edge, data pipelines, or ML/AI systems are advantageous.
