Senior Cloud Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid work with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week. Occasional late syncs with Seattle from 4–6 PM CET may be required.

Salary: PLN 320,000–360,000 gross per annum, plus equity and other compensation components.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate AWS cloud foundation infrastructure across hundreds to thousands of accounts.
• Own edge infrastructure including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover, and latency-optimized routing.
• Lead architecture decisions for cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and internal platform abstractions.
• Design and operate VPN, Direct Connect, and BGP connectivity with global financial partners and banks.
• Build and maintain Go-based services and CLI tooling that automate and extend the cloud platform.
• Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams on observability, compliance, reliability, and operational excellence; participate in a five-person weekly on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure with significant hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong knowledge of VPC design, subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.
• Experience managing CloudFront, AWS Shield, WAF, CDN failover strategies, and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
• Experience with AWS cost optimization, including billing analysis, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and right-sizing.
• Understanding of version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, and safe release practices; ability to read and write Python, Go, or a similar language.
• Knowledge of multi-account governance, organizational tooling, TCP/IP, and distributed network troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kubernetes or EKS.
