Senior Project Manager, R&D Processing

Location: Billund, Denmark. Hybrid working allows working from home up to two days per week; the workplace is the specified office, store, or factory.

What you will do

• Lead strategic cross-functional technology development projects from early ideas through concept development and prototype validation.
• Drive the maturation of automated manufacturing solutions for decoration, coating, printing, and pre-assembly of moulded plastic components.
• Establish technology and manufacturing readiness stages and demonstrate progression toward proven prototypes.
• Align Technology Transfer, Product Design, Quality, Materials Engineering, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders on priorities, risks, and progress.
• Prepare foundations for handover to Technology Transfer and future manufacturing deployment.
• Help establish ways of working for the newly formed Research & Innovation team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in R&D environments with significant project or program leadership experience.
• Track record of delivering technology development projects as the accountable project manager in engineering, manufacturing, or innovation organisations.
• Experience leading early-stage innovation projects involving low-maturity or unproven technologies.
• Ability to guide project decisions using strong technical understanding while balancing strategic objectives and business value.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to create followership around uncertain technology visions.
• Ability to work in the hybrid Billund-based setup.

Nice to have

• Experience with decoration, coating, printing, or processing technologies for plastic components.
• Knowledge of plastics in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience in consumer goods manufacturing with high product variation.
• Experience contributing to technology development and manufacturing innovation programmes in large-scale industrial businesses.
