Principal Engineer (Software Engineering/DevOps)

Location: Remote within the United Kingdom; optional office in London Bridge

What you will do

• Own product features from planning through delivery using feature flags, testing, observability, and agile practices.
• Partner with product stakeholders to refine plans and identify technical opportunities and risks.
• Design and improve AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, progressive delivery, and automated rollback workflows.
• Extend monitoring and observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry, improving incident detection and resolution.
• Strengthen platform security through vulnerability scanning, penetration-testing coordination, and engineering standards.
• Guide architectural consistency, shared libraries, internal tooling, and modernization of legacy systems across squads.

Requirements

• Principal-level experience spanning software engineering and DevOps.
• Experience working across a broad technology stack and owning features end to end.
• Experience with AWS services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, and S3.
• Experience designing CI/CD, infrastructure, reliability, security, and observability practices.
• Strong technical communication skills, including proposals, specifications, testing reports, and release planning.
• Ability to contribute to platform-wide technical strategy and mentor engineers across squads.
