Software Engineer III - Symbology Direct Feeds (Python/Perl)

Location: Manila, Philippines; hybrid setup with 2 days onsite at the Manila office and 3 days remote. Shift starts between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM Philippine Standard Time; daily on-call coverage is required from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM PHT.

What you will do

• Build and maintain ETL pipelines that process symbology feed files and produce transformed financial data.
• Generate timely reports describing data changes from update processes.
• Develop and maintain web tools and Symbology Editors that support data integrity and internal data management.
• Collaborate with product developers, internal stakeholders, clients, and Symbology teams in the US and London.
• Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and triage data or pipeline issues during on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 3–5 years of industry experience for experienced hires.
• Advanced proficiency in Perl and Python.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL Server, including database design, querying, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, Agile development, and large-scale projects.
• Comfort with hybrid work in Manila, schedule flexibility, and daily on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Experience building or consuming REST APIs with Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks.
• Frontend experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Knowledge of secure coding, OWASP guidelines, data security, access control, or security-focused CI/CD.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, or other AI-assisted development tools.
