PT Production Lighting Board & Teleprompter Operator

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; onsite at 5800 Sunset Blvd (Tribune-KTLA)

Salary: $50.35 per hour

hirify.global operates KTLA and produces local broadcast news and television programming.

What you will do

• Program, operate, maintain, and execute studio lighting production using lighting control consoles, including ETC ION.
• Install, hang, focus, circuit, replace, adjust, and repair lighting equipment and fixtures.
• Operate teleprompter systems and support news production operating systems during live broadcasts.
• Perform lighting cue checks before and after shows and troubleshoot lighting and video issues.
• Coordinate studio lighting maintenance, stage marks, props, grip functions, supplies, and safe workspace operations.
• Give accurate instructions to stage personnel and support the Stage Management team during live broadcasts.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of lighting experience in a major market.
• Proven leadership ability and experience in lighting and teleprompter operation.
• Working knowledge of lighting instruments, PC-based lighting control consoles, video systems, and production processes.
• Good organization, communication, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
• Microsoft Office and Outlook experience.
• Must be an IATSE member or willing to join and able to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of newsroom operating systems, including ENPS.
