What you will do

• Research, plan, develop, and produce local news programs, including scripts, concepts, budgets, and programming schedules.
• Conduct interviews, manage on-air talent, and support directing, videography, audio, lighting, and live or pre-recorded production.
• Edit videotape, complete production clearances and paperwork, and label and archive completed show tapes.
• Train and direct production staff, assign duties, and organize production resources.
• Make editorial decisions and participate in the design of video graphics, titles, music, show appearance, sets, and properties.
• Assist with the repair and upkeep of studio and production facilities and equipment.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Communications, Mass Communications with an emphasis on Television Production, or related professional experience.
• At least two years of television directing experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of television production techniques and extensive experience with broadcast automation.
• Knowledge of professional audio/video equipment, staging, editing, post-production, storage, and archiving procedures.
• Ability to plan schedules, assign duties, arrange training, organize resources, make administrative decisions, and establish priorities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, creative decision-making, writing, and editing skills.
